Getting A Handle On Training

A Variety of Adjustable Grips and Widths

Despite being one of the largest muscles in the body in surface area, covering a significant portion of the back, the latissimus dorsi is primarily considered a shoulder muscle. It is an extensor and lateral bender of the lower back but is most notable in movement of the upper limb, through adduction, extension and medial rotation and raising the entire trunk in what is called brachiation. Brachiation, or often referred to as suspensory locomotion, can be seen  and easily understood watching one hang and swing forward from one arm to the other on the popular TV competition America Ninja Warrior.

The optimal position for training the latissimus is a neutral spine. To fully maximize strengthening this structure the Pendulum Lat Combo Pull provides a variety of handles for wide and narrow gripping, pronation and supination as well as handles that follow the body’s limbs and musculature as it is applying force.
