John Norcott is currently the Strength and Conditioning Coach for Southwestern University in Texas. He was a two-time All-Lone Star Conference fullback at Angelo State University and is a five-time National Champion Powerlifter through the USA Powerlifting Federation. Early in his career on his way to becoming a Head Strength Coach, he was selected as a graduate assistant in strength and conditioning at Eastern Michigan University and while there earned a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology.
Amanda Scavo received a degree in Sports Medicine from Eastern Michigan. She too was an exceptional athlete. Amanda grew up participating in gymnastics on the Junior Olympic Circuit... at EMU, she was a gymnast, a cheerleader, an athletic trainer and after leaving school began competing in women’s bodybuilding competitions.
Similar interests, John and Amanda from different parts of America, first met at the Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio. When they met she was already attending Eastern Michigan University and John Norcott had just accepted a new graduate assistantship position there - - as it turned out it was destiny. The two would become friends and dated. Leaving EMU each pursued their careers, she in Corporate Fitness and he in Collegiate Strength and Conditioning. Eventually they reunited to become Mr. and Mrs John and Amanda Norcott.
The Norcott Wedding
There are many traditions in weddings, the wedding cake, maid of honor, the best man, bridesmaids, groomsmen, bridal bouquet, the bouquet toss, throwing rice, honeymoon the wedding arch and more.
The traditional arch is more than decoration for many it is a symbol of their future home the place where the bride and groom will start their family and the arches openness representing that guests are welcome. Others hire professional wedding decorators and wedding planners to design an arch to reflect their views or other layers of meaning and mood of their special day.
