Now Hiring Strength Positions

Hard Pressed is a One on One Strength Training Studio in downtown Chicago, Illinois. They train the general public using the strength training principles picked up by their founders who are former collegiate strength coaches.

They are looking for 3 motivated people to join their staff (2 interns and 1 full time coach). See below for how to apply for these positions.

Pendulum Workout

The Pendulum 3 Way Row



• Must have NCAA coaching experience

• Familiarity w/ HIT (high intensity training) strength training principles

• Must submit picture from head to toe.

• Selected applicants should be prepared for a simple 3 step interview process consisting of but not limited to:

1. Phone interview w/ one or more strength coaches
2. Face to face interview w/ one or more strength coaches
3. Train & be trained 1 on 1 by strength staff


• This is a 1 on 1 coaching position that will consist of strength training both paying customers and Hard Pressed staff.

• Design workouts based on Hard Pressed criteria

• Minor day to day duties will be required for business upkeep and facility maintenance

• Starting pay rate will be based on experience in the strength training field.

• On going compensation will be based on 40% of earned revenue per training session.

• Estimated annual starting rate 40 – 60k with potential to far exceed.

• Start date will be October 1 

Pendulum Workout

The Pendulum Hip Press


• PT student / Exercise Science student or the like
• Preferable NCAA athletic or coaching experience


• This is an internship opportunity in exchange for college credit hours, or apprenticeship.

• The duration of internship will be based on what ever school requirement is (if applicable) for the applicant, or 2 month apprenticeship.


• Shadow & assist strength coaches during morning and/or evening primetime hours.

• Train & be trained 1 on 1 with an HP strength coach.

• Write a brief bio and introduce oneself for company website.

• Design workouts based on Hard Pressed criteria & train assigned clients

• Assist with routine facility maintenance: Towels, supplement inventory, equipment sanitation etc.

• Train &/or be trained on video for company website
