Sport Climbing

Indoor Sport Climbing uses artificially constructed climbing walls with grips for hands and feet often removable. Sport Climbing is a form of rock climbing that has fixed anchors and removable holds of all shapes and sizes. The fixed bolts are used for belaying and safety and floor crash padding is commonplace.

The number of climbing gyms has doubled in the last 10 years and climbing walls are found on many college and university campuses. There is now USA Climbing, National Team trials, it is an Olympic sport, it can be regularly watched on TV and the popularity is ever growing.
