It is well known that a hip-dominant exercise such as the stiff legged deadlift targets the proximal hamstring, whereby the lying leg curl a knee-dominant exercise, the lower or distal hamstrings.  When an athlete begins exercising on the Pendulum Leg Curl they are ‘prone’ in every sense of the word as they are not only facing downward, but also ‘prone’ to smile as they immediately feel a sensation in the posterior thigh musculature that they have never felt when using a leg curl before.
